It was a profound honor to be invited to join the 2025 Uganda Mission Team. When Pastor Hill extended the call through the IMB, I was reminded of Isaiah 6:8: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” This mission represented a rare and transformative opportunity to share the gospel in a deeply impactful way.

Three committed pastors from Michigan—each with years of ministry experience and theological training—embarked on this journey together. We are grateful for the support of IMB, BSCM, local churches, and individuals who made this mission possible.

Our journey began with a 21-hour flight from Detroit to Entebbe, Uganda, via Amsterdam and Rwanda. Upon arrival, we joined Pastor Hill and a team of 14 missionaries from across the U.S. —California, Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana—united in purpose.

We traveled to Jinja, where we met Pastor Smith, a seasoned missionary with over two decades of experience in Uganda. His leadership and insight were invaluable. With the help of local translators, we began ministering in villages, sharing the gospel and equipping people to read and understand Scripture for themselves.

Our mission focused on reaching 36 church plants, seminaries, hospitals, and remote communities—including fishing villages on Lake Victoria and mountain regions like Mboli, situated 4,800 feet above sea level. For ten days, we preached and taught daily for six hours in humble, mud-built churches without electricity or running water.

Using tools like the “Three Circles” and the book of Titus, we presented the gospel clearly and accessibly. Hundreds responded with renewed faith and deeper understanding. The spiritual hunger and openness we encountered were extraordinary.

Beyond the ministry, we formed lasting bonds with the Ugandan people—relationships rooted in shared faith that transcend the boundaries of time and geography. This mission was more than outreach; it was a homecoming of the heart.
