Our world is trembling under the weight of violence, division, and despair. The assassination of
Charlie Kirk and the countless acts of senseless violence remind us of the fragility of life and the
urgency of truth. People are asking questions, searching for meaning, and longing for hope. In
this moment of chaos and uncertainty, the church cannot sit idly by. We must seize the day.

Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise
people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians
5:15–16). These words could not be more relevant today. The days are indeed evil, and wisdom
demands that we make the most of every opportunity. For the church, that means proclaiming
the gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness and compassion in a world desperate for truth.

Jesus Himself declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me” (John 14:6). Our culture is filled with half-truths and empty promises, but
only Christ offers the hope and peace the human heart craves. The world may be shaken by
violence, but our message is unshakable: there is salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life in
Jesus.

To seize the day means that our churches must rise above comfort and complacency. We are
called not to blend in with the world but to shine as lights in the darkness. Paul reminds us, “For
you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians
5:8). This is our calling: to live differently, to speak boldly, and to love radically.

Seizing the day also requires urgency. James warns us, “You don’t even know what tomorrow
will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then
vanishes” (James 4:14). None of us are guaranteed another day. The tragedies we witness
serve as sobering reminders that now is the time to act, now is the time to share the gospel,
now is the time to live fully surrendered to Christ.

Our neighbors are watching. Our communities are searching. When the world sees chaos, the
church must point to the Prince of Peace. When the world sees death, we must declare the
hope of resurrection. When the world is drowning in despair, we must proclaim the living hope of
Jesus Christ.

This is not a time to shrink back. It is a time for the church to be the church—to pray fervently, to
love deeply, and to proclaim boldly. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast,
immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is
not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

The world is hungry for truth. The time is now. Let us, as God’s people, seize the day.
